data show that in june 2012, the national development and reform commission has approved the supporting engine project of shanghai general motors (shenyang beisheng) automobile co., ltd. the project products include 1.2t, 1.4t, 1.5t turbocharged gasoline engines and a 1.5l direct injection gasoline engine in natural suction cylinder. the construction scale is 450,000 units per year.

in fact, gm's 1.4t engine has been used in overseas coruz and other models, and its performance in data is comparable to that of the mainstream 2.0l naturally aspirated engine. however, for the 1.2t and 1.5t engines shown in the approval documents, there is no relevant information at present, and the two powers are not used in gm overseas models.

at present, shanghai gm has not yet announced when the new engine will be produced, but from the construction scale of 450,000 units per year, it can meet the current demand of shanghai gm's small cars, compact cars with small displacement turbocharging, in-cylinder direct injection engines. and that will put a lot of pressure on the people of the north and the south.
